Hilary Machell, Harris Museum, Art Gallery Library

The Harris is a Grade I listed museum and art gallery, opened in 1893, with extensive collections of British fine art, decorative art and Preston’s history. We have shown contemporary art since our inception and, in 2016, showed a new commission by Nathaniel Mellors, winner of the Contemporary Art Society Annual Award. We are embarking on an exciting period, joining up with the Harris library, which shares our building, to develop an innovative new offer for the 21st century. Watch this space!
