South Square Centre is a grassroots arts centre home to galleries, community spaces, a history archive, fine art framers, a vegetarian cafe and over 10 artist studio spaces. The centre hosts community events and activities for all ages, including workshops, exhibitions and traineeships.

The building comprises a series of interconnected 19th Century workers cottages, set around a cobbled square located in the conservation area of Thornton, famous for it's Bronte connections and its impressive 22-arch viaduct.
