Bates Mill is an old textile mill just outside Huddersfield town centre and close to the University. Formerly a spinning mill, the site is now split between textile fabric production and renovated space providing for creative businesses, artists and photographers. It has a large multipurpose ground floor space which has been used for set-building, photography, music events and conferences as well as first floor photography studio.
