The Birley is an artist-led studios and project space in Preston city centre. Open since 2014, we exist to support critically-engaged and socially-engaged contemporary arts practice. In particular, we aim nurture artists who are testing out new ideas, developing collaborations, and taking an experimental approach to their practice. In early 2019 we took over the first floor of our building, and more than tripled in size!
